About Us
The New Hampshire Speech-Language Hearing Association (NHSLHA) is a non-profit, professional association for speech-language pathologists, speech language assistants, and audiologists who practice in New Hampshire, and is the state-level affiliate of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Vision Statement:
To improve the quality of and access to speech-language pathology and audiology services for all individuals in the state of New Hampshire.
Mission:

To promote the highest standards of preparation and practice in speech-language pathology, audiology, and their related fields by:

Providing continuing education and networking/collaboration opportunities for professional growth and development;

Encouraging research in speech and hearing science, prevention, and evaluation and treatment of individuals with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders

To advocate for the rights of people with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders, including timely access to services to help them communicate and function effectively
- To increase public awareness and positively influence public opinion concerning the professions and the individuals we serve
Licensing:
NHSLHA is not a licensing board and does not govern state licensure for speech-language pathologists/assistants or audiologists. For information regarding the New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC), click here
Standards and Code of Ethics:
All professional members of the New Hampshire Speech-Language Hearing Association (NHSLHA) are expected to observe the Code of Ethics established by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, found on the ASHA website, as well as the standards set by the New Hampshire Speech-Language Pathology and Hearing Care Provider Governing Board.
The Association shall also follow the nondiscrimination language set forth by ASHA’s Code of Ethics and Bylaws.
